From Eelde through the Peizermade nature reserve

Past Roderwolde you cycle into the Peizermade. The Peizermade area is a nature reserve through which you will cycle. You will pass the Eelderdiep stream. The water makes it a wet and flowery area with ditches and woods where many species of meadow birds seek refuge. Fauna and flora thrive here. With the city around the corner, there is also the threat of construction. You can see the luxury homes overlooking the beautiful area. Therefore, Natuurmonumenten is very active in preserving the area. This area together with the Leekstermeer area is called De Onlanden and is part of a large nature and water storage area.
