In het hart van Ruinerwold ligt Museumboerderij De Karstenhoeve, een prachtige 17e-eeuwse boerderij die is ingericht zoals het boerenleven hier vroeger was. Binnen stap je terug in de tijd met originele meubels, gebruiksvoorwerpen en kleding die een beeld geven van het dagelijks leven op het Drentse platteland. Naast de vaste collectie zijn er ook wisselende tentoonstellingen en activiteiten, zoals workshops en rondleidingen. De boerderij is omgeven door een sfeervolle tuin en erf, waar je de landelijke sfeer helemaal kunt proeven.
