Bicycle route Forest View

Forest and recreation in Salland
After World War II, the Hardenberg area grew from a small farming community to a recreational area where many Dutch and Germans spend their vacations every year. This bicycle route just along the border near Germany is perfect for when you are on vacation in the area. The area alternates nicely with small villages, green meadows and beautiful recreational areas. Take a look at the Stehanus church, the Jodenbergje or the Hoft church. The area is also rich in excavations, including a well in Sibculo, which some claim has medicinal properties. Characteristic of this route are the landforms created in the ice age. Near Langeveen is the only esker in the Netherlands, a winding hill, which is also very rare in the rest of Europe. But there are also defensive works and entrenchments to be found such as the Loozensche Linie, erected at the time by Napoleon. In Hardenberg itself you can always go for refreshment. During the summer there is a good chance that you will come across some kind of event. Or you can go for a while in the Vechtpark 0There is always something to do or see. Of course you can enjoy the many natural beauties the Vechtdal has to offer anywhere along the route.
