Cycle route Amstelland and Westeinderplassen

This special bike route takes you through the green heart of Amstelland and along the glistening Westeinderplassen. You cycle through typical Dutch landscapes with vast polders, ditches, canals and characteristic villages such as Amstelhoek, Nes aan de Amstel, De Kwakel, Aalsmeer and Amstelveen. Along the way you ride on quiet roads through the open peat meadow area and enjoy beautiful views of the Amstel and the Ringvaart. You pass historic farms, flowery roadsides and come along pleasant places where you can take a break, for example in Aalsmeer or on a bench by the water. The landscape is vast and varied, with a mix of nature, village conviviality and recreational areas around Amstelveen. The route is fully paved and suitable for all types of bicycles. You make a relaxing round through one of the most beautiful water and polder landscapes of the Netherlands.
