Cycling tour Around Fluessen

Bike route Rondje Fluessen is a lap around Friesland's second largest lake.
Bike route 'rondje Fluessen' leads you around the lake Fluessen in municipality Súdwest-Fryslân. This, in terms of area, the largest municipality in the Netherlands has no less than 74 towns, some of which are visited during this route. Súdwest-Fryslân also has 677 monuments registered in the national monument register. In Koudum you can visit a beautiful Dutch Reformed church: the Martinikerk. The Vlijt windmill is also worth a visit, as are two American windmills. The cycle route continues in the direction of It Heidenskip. This village is best known for fierljeppen (pole vaulting). In water sports village Gaastmeer it is time for a cup of coffee before continuing the route to Heeg. Heeg is also a water sports town, where sailing schools, marinas and shipyards can be found. Via Koufurderigge you cycle to Woudsend, a village part of which is a protected village sight and therefore houses several national monuments. Wood sawmill De Jager is one of them, as well as De Karmel and the Reformed church. The latter has been converted into a residence. The route continues to Elahuizen, where you cycle closest to more Fluessen.
