Cycling tour Hoogeveen Hondsrug
Along the way on the bike you will enjoy wide vistas, forest and heathlands and along the way you can take a break at vantage points.
This is a round trip of about 50 km through the Drenthe peat and Hondsrug landscape. The route leads along the green canals and bog rivers around Hoogeveen, through the extensive ditch and field patterns of Tiendeveen and Nieuw-Balinge, over the long, dead straight dikes near Geesbrug, through the quiet village of Zwinderen and along the reed beds around Meerhuizen. Along the way panoramic views of the former moorland alternate with patches of forest and heathland on the Hondsrug, while on the straight stretches you can keep pedaling and take a break at catering establishments or viewpoints.
