Great bike ride through the Wassenaar dunes

The starting point of this special route is located at Rijksdorp, a hamlet near the Wassenaarse slag. The varied route here runs right through the beautiful dune area of Meyendel, with breathtaking and highly varied nature and a constant view of the North Sea. Infiltration passes for the purpose of water purification are interspersed with stretches of forest, heath and sandy plains, so that the fauna has also developed abundantly here. The huge variety of bird sounds are proof of this. After the dunes, the route takes on a different character and we suddenly cycle through a varied environment of stately neighborhoods and green wooded areas, such as Wassenaar, the Waalsdorpervlakte and the Hague Benoordenhout. It is not for nothing that many city dwellers unwind here because of the wealth of beautiful greenery and beautiful water features. The tour then passes through the center of The Hague, parliamentary center, with numerous attractions, including museums, delightful squares and a wide variety of attractive destinations. The route then heads to the coast at Scheveningen, the old seaside resort, but considerably modified in recent years, partly due to beach elevation and changes to the promenade and pier. North of Scheveningen and after another six kilometers of lovely dune area, the beautiful, nearly 30-kilometer trail ends back where it began.
