In North Holland along markets and dunes

Just above the port of IJmuiden is the village of Wijk aan Zee. In the dune landscape around Wijk aan Zee, several bunkers still remind us of the Atlantic Wall. This was built by the German occupation army. The bike route starts in the direction of Beverwijk. If you pass under the A22 you can visit the largest covered market in Europe, the Bazaar, known as the Black Market until 1994. As you leave Beverwijk, the road winds along the water. Views of green meadows make you forget that Amsterdam is so close. At Uitgeestermeer Lake is shallow and there are opportunities to cool off in the water. Through Uitgeest, along the Eendekooi you touch sideways Castricum and pass estate Duin and Bosch. One of the oldest farms in the area is located here \"the old Teahouse\" which dates back to the 17th century and the estate has an old water tower. The last part of the route runs through the dunes. Unique sand drifts and marram grasses define the picture.
