New Sea Lock bicycle route IJmuiden

Cycling along you will pass the new Sea Lock in IJmuiden, recently opened by King Willem Alexander. This sea lock is 500 meters long, 70 meters wide and 18 meters deep. The IJmuiden locks allow connection between the North Sea Canal and the North Sea. Also enjoy the view of Fort Island. Through Velsen Noord and Driehuis you will cycle back to IJmuiden. Tip: This bike route may also be well combined with a visit to the IJmuider Zee en Haven museum. This museum used to be a fishing school!
