Route through De Alde Feanen and surroundings

Note: Bike route with a ferry crossing to the other side. Therefore, make sure you have a few euros in your pocket. At the visitor center you can get some more information about this beautiful area De Alde Feanen. This National Park is a low moorland swamp which includes lakes, reeds and marsh forests. Due to the great variation, many species of plants and animals are found here. Over 100 species of birds have been spotted and 450 different plant species. After cycling parallel to the Headamsleat, you will ride along vast grasslands to Oudega. The drainage of the ditches all goes towards the nearest bodies of water. You follow the waters of De Wijde Ee through the Princess Margriet Canal to the junction with the Lange Sleatten and the Rochsleat. You are treated to the straight lines of subdivision and can enjoy the views across the land.
