Straight through the Wassenaar dunes

Cycling through the Wassenaar dune area, beautiful scenery between Katwijk and Scheveningen.
Cycling through the Wassenaar dune area, beautiful scenery between Katwijk and Scheveningen, is characterized by an almost infinite, salty view of the North Sea and a somewhat more inland-oriented second subsection through the sand hills. The traditional lighthouse and a remnant of the Atlantic Wall, with a reminder of an event in 1944, can be combined well with a short walk to the beach, with the Wassenaarse Slag being particularly enticing. The dune area is further characterized by the many salt marshes with the specific water birds, which have their nesting place here. The route also contains many resting points to fully enjoy the beautiful North Sea coast. Of course, a short crossing to nearby Scheveningen is an almost obvious extra.
