De rivier de Aa is een van de belangrijkste beken van Noordoost-Brabant en stroomt dwars door Veghel. Ooit werd de Aa grotendeels gekanaliseerd om water sneller af te voeren en overstromingen te voorkomen. De afgelopen jaren is dit veranderd: delen van de rivier zijn weer in natuurlijke staat teruggebracht in het kader van waterbeheer, natuurontwikkeling en recreatie.
