Bike route Nuenen
Cycling route through Brabant
This bicycle route goes along the Wilhelmina Canal. The canal was built in the 19th century to transport goods and raw materials. Nowadays it serves mainly for recreation and relaxation, such as boating, fishing, hiking and of course cycling! While cycling, discover the landscape around Nuenen. This area is characterized by a mix of farmland, forests and waterways, including the Bommel. The route also passes by the Watermolen van Opwetten. This is a historically located mill on the Dommel River in Nuenen. It is the oldest water mill in the region and dates back to the 13th century. The mill originally milled grain and later also served for sawing wood. The Opwetten Water Mill has been restored and is now a restaurant. This is a popular place for visitors to enjoy the beautiful surroundings while having a snack and a drink.
