Korenbeurs

De korenbeurs is een monumentaal historisch gebouw in het hart van Groningen. Het werd in de 19de eeuw gebouwd en diende oorspronkelijk als graanbeurs, waar handelaren samenkwamen om graan te verhandelen. Het pand is een prachtig voorbeeld van Neoklassieke architectuur en wordt vaak bewonderd om zijn indrukwekkende gevel. Op deze gevel staan drie Romeinse goden afgebeeld die de graanhandel moesten versoepelen. In het fronton hangt een uurwerk en daar bovenop staat Mercurius, de god van de handel.
