Cycling among the reeds of the lakes and through downtown Gouda
From Rust Restaurant, the bicycle route runs directly past meadows and tree nurseries. You can learn about medicinal trees such as the famous Arnica and licorice and the history of herbal medicine at the Tree Nursery Museum. Further on you drive towards the Reeuwijkse plassen. On both sides you sometimes have water, so it seems as if you are cycling over water. Nature here is overwhelmingly beautiful in every season. Then you ride into the city center of Gouda. The old Town Hall, dating from the fifteenth century, is well worth a visit. After the hustle and bustle of the city there is a beautiful stretch past market gardens ahead.
