A bicycle route along large and small waters.

You will start this beautiful bicycle route from restaurant The Cabin. You start from a place on the water but you will pass many large and small waters. You start along the canals in the old center of Sneek. Through the suburbs you will reach the highway which you will cross. Passing the highway and leaving the built-up area you will enter the rural atmosphere of the province. You will be treated to endless vistas. Not only on the water can the world feel vast, even over the green pastures the horizon seems infinitely far. At junction 40 you cross the Wilddraai and pass the Piekemeer, in the distance the Hissemeer, the Rietmeer and the Oudegaaster Brekken. Arriving in Oudega, you may be able to get a spot by the water to take a break. As you continue cycling there are lakes on all sides. It is almost a miracle that your feet stay dry. After IJst you will cycle a beautiful stretch along the river De Geeuw. In cold winters this is part of the Elfstedentocht. After such distant views, you ride back into the center of Sneek. In the cabin you can reminisce with a view of the harbor.
