Cycling along the Waal River and through downtown Nijmegen

In addition to fishing in the waters of The Broek, you can bike through the beautiful surroundings. The bicycle route goes past vast fields and meadows, past large and small waters and sights that have a piece of history and future in them. Along the way you will pass Doornenburg Castle from the 13th century. Between 1947-1966 the castle was restored to its full glory. Television recordings were made here for the series Floris. History can also be felt at Fort Pannerden. Water, earth, air and fire come together in the river landscape. From the history of the Netherlands to the gardens of Park Lingezegen where new fruits are grown. Cycling further along the Waal, the wide water leads to the center of Nijmegen. Art and culture, food and drink, it is plentiful here. Riding through the villages of the region, you experience a sense of richness. From little beaches along the Waal to restaurants and outdoor cafes, you can go in any direction.
