The six delights of Gelderland
A bicycle tour through the historic villages and landscapes of Gelderland.
As you cycle through the six delights, you occasionally imagine yourself in another era. Many buildings are still built in Romanesque style, reminiscent of the time when the Romans occupied this area. The area around the villages is characterized by a grand river sand dune area, mainly covered by beautiful forests. The area used to be called the "Badger Capital. Recent nature developments have increased the badger population again. In addition, the river dunes are an excellent place for many waterfowl. It is full of flowering grasses, herbs and flowers that are especially abundant in summer.
