Wooded route around Harfsen

The main features of this Harfsen round trip are the strong variety of the landscape and the many stopping places where it is still quiet.
The village of Harfsen is central on this bicycle route, most of which runs through the municipality of Lochem. Harfsen is part of this Achterhoek municipality and together with Gorssel, Laren, Almen and Klein Dochteren forms the core of a beautiful route. The Achterhoek scenic landscape lends itself ideally to bicycle routes due to the great variety of the scenery. Forests and heaths share the trail with stream landscapes and village scenes, and that's what makes this round trip so captivating. Gorssel, right next to the IJssel floodplain, has as its main attraction Museum More, Holland's largest museum of neo-realism. The route also runs for a portion along the Twente Canal, a still-growing waterway between Enschede and Zutphen. In Laren, cyclists can visit a number of excellent catering establishments right in the center of the village. The route is further characterized by meandering streams, lots of greenery and a large number of teahouses, campsites, small and large restaurants and beautiful country houses and castles, some of which can be visited. There is also no shortage of excellent overnight accommodations and these can be found in a variety of forms.
