This bicycle route takes you through the beautiful polder landscape of the Green Heart and along the river Lek. Along the way you will pass through quaint villages such as Nieuwpoort, a historic fortified town where you can admire the attractive city gate and old ramparts. You cycle along dike roads with beautiful views over the river and through rural polders with farms and windmills. The route also takes you through quiet villages such as Noordeloos and Hoogblokland, where the atmosphere of the countryside can be easily felt. Along the route there are several opportunities to take a break, such as at a waterside terrace or on a bench along the dike.
