This tour takes you through a characteristic Dutch landscape full of open water, narrow dikes, reed beds and vast meadows. You cycle along quiet back roads and nature-rich paths, with plenty of opportunity to take a break along the waterfront or in one of the villages along the way. e pass sparkling lakes, through the open countryside towards Baambrugge and Abcoude, atmospheric villages with a rich history and a relaxed atmosphere. Further on you pass the nature reserve of Botshol, a quiet and watery marshland landscape with marshes, ponds and a wide variety of birds. To the west, the route takes you along quiet dike roads through the rural area of Waver and Demmerik. The combination of wide vistas, water features, reed beds and village ribbons makes this tour a delightful exploration of Holland's fenland.
