Cycling route from Paasloo

Route through the northern part of The National Park Weerribben-Wieden.
From the campground, you will cycle through Oldemarkt to Ossenzijl. Along the water you will enter the village to begin your route through northern part The National Park Weerribben-Wieden. Staatsbosbeheer and Natuurmonumenten has even received a diploma for it, because in the park nature is so well preserved. You cycle along the water and can enjoy the view. Water and greenery alternate which is characteristic of this area. In the smaller ditches special water plants such as water gentian and water mint grow. And there live special animals such as the otter, water birds and insects. Also special is the quaking bog. This looks like a floating carpet that is just passable\/not passable and on which orchids can grow. This can only grow in very clear water. A similar process happens with reeds. The roots intertwine and form islands (crags) on which plants can grow again. This is also why not all reed is removed. In this old reed even nests are built. A route that is beautiful from beginning to end. But for a shorter crossing you can follow after 14 the numbers 13, 20 and 12 to the campsite.
