Cycling route The Huts

A piece of Brabant and a piece of Limburg, that is what you will discover on this bicycle route.
Cycle route De Hutten starts near the pleasant village of Nederweert. Along the way you will see vast fields and pass through small woods. Small bridges make this cycling route a fairytale scene. You cycle past the village of Nederweert and of course you can always choose to take a look here. After this you will cross the Zuid-Willemsvaart, a beautiful, peaceful canal along which there is a long row of trees. On your route you will pass the pretty village of Someren, which was granted municipal rights by Duke John II of Brabant as early as 1301. The name Someren possibly refers to "seven marshes" or swamps. There are still swampy areas in addition to heathland near the village. In the community you can admire the Den Evert, a windmill from the 16th century. The brick church of St. Francis is also worth a visit. Along the Panweg is a beautiful forest, where you can definitely stop for a short rest. Enjoy the silence on a bench under the rustling leaves. Next, you will pass the village of Kamersven near Maarheeze. Via a forest road that strangely enough runs right alongside the A2 motorway, you return to the starting point.
