From Twente to the Achterhoek and back again

This varied cycling route takes you through the most beautiful parts of Twente and the Achterhoek. You'll cycle along quiet roads and well-maintained bike paths, far away from the hustle and bustle. The landscape is constantly changing: open meadows, characteristic farmhouses, and beautiful vistas alternate with forest edges and short, picturesque stretches through the woods. It is precisely this variety that makes the route so appealing. In the vicinity of Markelo, you'll experience the gently rolling Twente landscape, after which the route transitions into the characteristic bocage landscape of the Achterhoek. Here, small wooded areas, hedgerows, and open fields alternate naturally. A special part of the trip is the stretch along the Twente Canal. The wide water, the tranquility, and the occasional passing ships give this part of the route a character all its own.\nAlong the way, there are plenty of beautiful spots to stop for a moment and enjoy the surroundings.
