Green route along De Biesbosch and through Dordrecht

Route running from the stars to downtown Dordrecht.
The bike route starts along the Merwedehaven and the reservoir the Great Ridge. Nature is overwhelming. The Biesbosch is a National Park with freshwater tides, creeks and willow flood forests. It is used agriculturally, for recreation but also accommodates storage of clean surface water in specially constructed reservoirs. This is necessary for the continuity of the drinking water supply. Along De Merwede the route continues. You drive through nature with only destination traffic on your way. Vast farmlands glide by. Along the water the Dordtsche Kil and the Sterrenburg district, you will arrive in the center of Dordrecht. The city of Dordrecht is located where the Merwede splits into the Noord and the Oude Maas. The municipality of Dordrecht encompasses the entire Island of Dordrecht.
