Meadow landscapes in the Alblasserwaard

The bike route goes through Goudriaan, a village in the Alblasserwaard with an agricultural character. You will cycle past picturesque monumental farms and wide open views. You cannot miss the many meadow birds and flowery ditch edges. From the green surroundings of the peat meadow area you continue along the Lek. This is one of the rivers that embraces this area. Groot Ammers is home to one of the largest eel smokehouses in Europe. This is not surprising with so much water around. From De Lek drive south to the Beneden Werwede. From the big waters along the narrower Giessen, the tour continues past Brocante and Baroque in old barns. At the Slingeland lakes you can swim or just take a short walk.
