Round the lake Wolderwijd

From Harderwijk around and along the water and through vast landscapes.
On the Wolderwijd are two towns, these are Zeewolde and Harderwijk. Harderwijk is a city in Gelderland that has everything to offer; from water to nature and from culture to culinary. You will ride a route that has all of this. From Harderwijk, you will ride along the Wolderwijd lake. This is one of the Veluwerandmeren. The name Wolderwijd was coined by the writer Godfried Bomans. At Strand Nulde you can swim or just enjoy the peace and quiet. After this, you will pass the Nijkerkersluis lock as you cross over to Flevoland. Every year, 35,000 ships pass through these locks. Along the Nuldernauw you will drive through the youngest province of the Netherlands. Flevoland is characterized by lots of open space and a tight layout. This is also reflected here. After an oasis of greenery, you will arrive in Zeewolde. This became an independent municipality in 1984, making it the youngest municipality in the Netherlands not created by amalgamation. The tower of the church building Open Haven has a carillon with fifty bells. With some luck, you can hear them. Through the aqueduct Harderwijk you will return to the province of Gelderland. After this route it is delicious informal dinner.
