Route along The Rottemeren and tree farms.

Cycling along the nature of De Rottemeren and through the center of Gouda.
The bike route starts in Boskoop. This area is known for its tree nurseries. Many hundreds are scattered over more than 1,000 acres. The large number of ditches ensures that there is enough water for the trees. The apple variety De Schone van Boskoop (also known as goudrenet) most likely originated here. You cycle past tree nurseries in the direction of Moerkapelle. Here you can see the river De Rotte. This is used as a storage basin. This means that excess water in the polders is stored and drained via De Rotte. Where it widens it is called De Rottemeren. On the east side there is still a four-mill passage; 4 mills that worked together and thus took care of the drainage of the water in De Rotte. You will pass the Zevenhuizerplas, where you can swim. Because the lake is very deep the water does not warm up much in summer and there is rarely blue-green algae. Parralel to the Hollandsche IJssel you cycle to Gouda. In the center you can enjoy the atmosphere while taking a break. After the bustle of the city, you will be treated to the vistas that The Green Heart can show you so beautifully. When you pass the many tree nurseries, you know you are back at Boskoop. Here you can review everything again in your mind.
