Cycling along the dike, with the North Sea on one hand and the picturesque, Frisian villages on the other, you may already be able to imagine how in those days the Normans tried to attack the brave Frisians. Many of the mound villages in the area have protected village status and some of them are even recognized as National Monuments. Not only on land and sea, but also in the air you can feast your eyes.
