A long bike route through a northern tip of Gelderland

From Oldebroek starts a nice long route through beautiful Gelderland and Overijssel. This close to Flevoland, you can see that man has worked on the landscape here. Straight lines dominate the roads and paths. Along these are rows of trees. The predominantly agricultural landscape is interspersed with the Doornspijkse Heide, with sand drifts De Zoom and forest area De Haere. Toward the northwest there is the old Zuiderzee coast, now the Veluwe Lake. In the Hanseatic city of Elburg, the straight street plan shows that it was a real fortress. There is much to visit such as the oldest ropeway still working, the Munthuis or the Poorttoren. The center exudes history. Along the Drontermeer the route goes north where in Overijssel the IJssel is briefly in sight before continuing, back in Gelderland, to Hattem. The Bakery Museum and the Anton Pieck Museum, mill De Fortuin and much more are worth seeing, but you will have to deviate from the route for a while to dive into the center. You'll cycle quite a bit to end up at Artillerie Schietkamp near 't Harde. This is a training ground for artillery weapons of the Dutch armed forces. You cycle past this to pass the Fantasy Garden. A flat piece of land of +/- 4000m2 is decorated by the owners according to English example but with an Asian look. The difference in height of +/- 15 meters creates a varied and exciting whole. At the end of the route you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
