By ferry from Brabant to Limburg

A short route that goes over water and through Brabant grasslands.
Starting at 't Huys op de Hei, this short route takes you into the North Brabant countryside taking the ferry 2 times. Therefore, don't forget to bring some change. Along meadows and pastures, the road winds parallel to the stream the Oeffeltse Raam. This water originates in the Overloonsche Duinen and eventually flows into the Meuse. This area, De Bergjes, is part of the Maasheggen nature reserve. The meadows surrounded by hedges are characteristic of this area. Songbirds nest in the hedges. And the little owl and the collared redstart nest in the pollarded trees. You cycle through small towns to arrive at the Meuse. The ferry takes you across to Limburg. In Afferden you can take a break. The route continues to Bergen where you cross the Meuse again. Cycling through Vierlingsbeek you will reach the last part. You can enjoy the quiet roads and the views of the Brabant landscape.
