Cultural and green bicycle route around Lake Oldambt

You start the bike route from the river Pekel Aa and the Tusschenwegen water park to the center of Winschoten. This town does have the nickname Molenstad (Windmill Town), because it has three windmills. Along one of the oldest city parks and the Rosarium, you cycle under the highway to the Blue City. As you continue cycling, you will see alternating forests and grasslands around the lake. Because the lake is shallow, many water and marsh birds breed on the banks and islands. Between the reeds you look at the water and on the other side you enjoy views of grasslands and forests.
