Cycling route along the Meuse River around Kessel

The village of Kessel is located right on the Meuse River and offers beautiful views of the river and surrounding nature. The bike route leads you through the green floodplains and past small farms. You will also pass through Helden, a place with a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. The name Helden possibly comes from the Middle Dutch word for hero or brave persooon. Here you will also find the museum Maas en Peel, a museum focused on the history and culture of this unique region. Along the route are also cozy cafes and restaurants where you can sample Limburg specialties and relax with a drink.
