Cycling route through North Brabant

A route through the agricultural cultural landscape and forests surrounding De Mortel.
The Mortel territory has been inhabited and farmed for many thousands of years. Mortel was located several kilometers west of marshy areas. Yet it did not have a marshy character. The village is surrounded by an agricultural cultural landscape with forests, fields and stream valleys. In the direction of Gemert, you will pass Castle Van Gemert. The old towers still exude a medieval atmosphere. To the south lies below De Mortel the forest area of Biezen and Milschot. This is part of a vast forest belt that passes into the vast forests of Beestenveld, Stippelberg and Nederheide. You cycle to the south where there is an old cultural area including the old arable fields the Hoge and Lage Kranenbraken. In the hamlet Broekkant there are still many well-preserved old farms. You cycle through green Brabant and can completely relax between the meadows, under the trees and along the fields.
