Lake Veluwe, cycling route with forest, heath and water

Start and finish of this watery route is located at the well-known beach Nulde, near Putten, on the edge lake named Nuldernauw. The Veluwe Lake is originally the oldest and most familiar water recreation area in our country and the route offers the cyclist almost constant views of part of the lake. Height differences are limited from +5 meters ANP around Ermelo and -5 meters ANP 'on the other side' - the polder-rich area of Flevoland. While Harderwijk, especially in the Middle Ages, developed into a very important Hanseatic town with now numerous sights from the time of flourishing shipping and seafaring, Ermelo offers the cyclist many opportunities to go a lot further back in history. Through archeological finds in this historic village, remnants of living communities have been found dating back over 4,000 years, many of which can be viewed in museum Het Pakhuis. The route is attractively varied and varies not only in elevation but also in landscapes. Forest and heath around Ermelo and Putten, with flocks of sheep and old farmhouses, to the new neighborhoods of Zeewolde, where the route skims past to then around the Wolterwijd and via Harderwijk to reach \"the mainland\" of Gelderland again.
