Het Militair Knooppunt Centrale Oegstgeest speelde tijdens de Koude Oorlog een cruciale rol als communicatiecentrum voor de Koninklijke Marine. Gevestigd aan de Kwaaklaan in Oegstgeest, was het de centrale schakel voor het beheer en de coördinatie van militaire communicatienetwerken. Een van de meest opvallende kenmerken was de 110 meter hoge antenne op het terrein. Het gebied, dat door de tijd heen een klein bos werd, stond ook wel bekend als de 'bunkerheuvel'. Tegenwoordig is er weinig over van de oorspronkelijke militaire structuren, maar enkele herinneringen, zoals een pressepapier met het MKC-logo, blijven de geschiedenis van deze plek levendig houden.
