Cycling around the elongated Veerse Meer lake in Zeeland

This Veerse route starts in Breezand, Zeeland, where you cycle directly from Walcheren across the Veerse Gatdam to North Beveland. This dam is one of the famous Delta Works. The dam closed the Veerse Gat and created Lake Veere. In North Beveland, the bike route goes through park Rancho Grande to Kamperland. Kamperland is the largest village on the former island. You continue the route along the water until you see island Haringvreter in the distance. This island is mostly planted with forest and consists of pasture land. The route goes inland to Stroodorp. Again along the water, you cycle to the narrow town of Kortgene. A bike path over the Zandkreek dam takes you to Zuid-Beveland. There the route goes as close to the water as possible, passing villages Wolphaartdijk, where you can take a look at corn mill De Hoop and hamlet Sluis de Piet. Along the other side of island Haringvreter you will reach Veere, a historic town in Walcheren. This town has many attractions, such as the Scottish Houses on the Kaai, the Campveerse Toren and the town's town hall. Via the Veere Creek and Vrouwenpolder, you will arrive back in Breezand, where the tour ends.
