Den Haag CS is door Benthem Crouwel Architecten omgetoverd tot een licht, ruim, gemakkelijk te lezen gebouw waar alle openbaar vervoerssystemen samenkomen in het hart van de stad. Het beton van de jaren '70 is gesloopt ten gunste van transparantie. Binnen zoeven trams en metro boven de treinen over een verhoogd spoor. "Een station van glas, een kathedraal van licht" (staatssecretaris van infrastructuur en milieu Dijksma bij de opening in 2016).
